                 Food Waste across the regions in 2023

We continue to collect data on a daily basis of our food waste streams and look to develop methods so we can reduce our waste. Here we show this years waste to date and separate it into streams.

 What we are doing to reduce our food waste
  • Developing new recipes from ingredients that would normally go to waste

  • Plating up lounge meals so lunch is pre portioned 

  • Communication with food bookers about over ordering

  • Encourage drinks on request for meetings

  • We have made contact with an external company about looking at other ways to reduce our production waste

  • The battle for zero waste continues

There are many ways we can combat food waste, from composting left-overs to ordering class b (wonky) fruit and veg.

 

Our Waste Zero booklet looks at how we can use the parts of fresh produce that that in the past have been discarded – like apple peel and broccoli stems!
